Housing costs are a function of supply and demand. Portland must incentivize building, not penalize it. Sandeep Bali’s plan is to end inclusionary zoning and dismantle any housing policies that are not about health and safety. Let’s let builders build and get rid of unworkable ideas that have only led to increased rents and housing shortages.

End Urban Camping

Homelessness in Portland is out of control. Sandeep Bali plans to address the homeless crisis head-on, putting an end to urban camping, taking a closer look at where funding is going and helping those struggling with illness to access the city’s 250 rehabilitation centers.

Public Safety

Stop safe rest villages

Sandeep Bali believes Safe Rest Villages are not the answer to ending Portland’s homeless crisis. They are not a safe or compassionate solution. Rather, the spaces targeted for villages should be used for permanent affordable housing solutions.
